Production Blog Filming Two Music Video
My group and I needed to continue filming the rest of the music video, but with half of it down, we felt we were on good pace for the day. Our goal was to finish in one day, as we didn't want to stretch it out to multiple days because of unavailability. This goal was met and for that I am proud and thankful for, for both my group and the day working with us. We needed to film the seventh scene, which was again another date scene. This time, the scene was the two on an ice cream date, holding and embracing each other while laughing together. This scene was pretty easy and fun to film, to be honest, the entire filming process was fun as my group and I practically got to drive around the city together having fun. The ice cream scene was easy to film since Carson, my group mate who plays the boy, had real chemistry with the girl which he was acting with, since they are dating in real life too. They made the whole filming process better and made it feel much less awkward than it would have felt if it were someone Carson had never met. Their chemistry and the location of the ice cream store made it so the shot came out perfectly. For the eighth scene, it was the final date scene of the music video, and this time they were at the movies. This scene was kind of hard to do since we weren't allowed to record inside of the movie theatre due to policies and laws. We adapted to instead of showing them inside the movies, I just shot them walking towards the movie and showed the big AMC logo. The ninth scene was also hard to film, since the angle was super awkward. The scene was going to show Carson taking Sabrina to the beach to hang out after the party, and transition into the car with his arm around her, but in order get the proper angle to show both of them, I had to fit the camera and my arm through a gap between the seat and the door. Since I couldn't see the camera screen, I didn't know if the shot was centered or not so I had to reshoot multiple times in order to get the placement right. The tenth scene was relatively easy to shoot since it was like the picnic scene, all I had to do was point and shoot. One thing that was hard was getting the camera settings right again, since now the sun was setting and light changed. It was also hard to shoot since there was little to no time to get the scene right, which meant we only had a couple shots to get it right. The eleventh scene was pretty easy to film, since I just had to shoot them getting into the car and then driving down the road/neighborhood. The twelfth and final scene was the easiest to film, since I just had to track the two walking from the car up to the front door of the home, then I just had to place the shot right and get their side views right, then filming for the video was done.
