Planning Blog Music Video

 


 To begin with, the music video is a big switch from an advertising type video. So the use of props, costumes, music, and editing will be vital in this process. As well as the use of different camera angles, locations, pans and much more. 

Locations:

To begin with the use locations, we will be using various locations throughout the whole video. For example there will be scenes in cars, inside buildings, and etc.. The use of locations in this music video will vary and there will be many switches throughout the video. 

Props:

The many props we will use include microphones, glasses, hats, costumes, and more. The schedule will probably be around nighttime to really enhance the mood and the lighting that will portray to the theme of the video. The setting will be in a down town setting that will shift into the highway at some points. Along with different scenes not in the car. There will be two main characters in the music video. The main purpose of the music video is to reminisce the good times with the other. This will add to the sorrowful remembrance of one another. The scenes will include the same times with one another and then the similar scene without each other.

Costumes:

 The costumes will include both formal and informal outfits. The first scenes will include a more formal set of costumes. And then the other scenes will be more of comfortable, everyday kind of outfits. Depending on the mood of the current set the costumes will vary.

Backup Plan:  

The backup plan will be to switch up the music video to a different part of the song and still portray a similar aspect of the first one but account for what we can do at that moment.

Schedule:

11/20/2024- Begin to layout the structure of the video and how were going to film.

11/21/2024- Start filming rough draft scenes and take into consideration on how to make it better.

11/22/2024- Film all throughout the video and get all the scenes in.

11/23/2024- Make final edits to the video scenes.

11/24/2024- Start editing and adding cuts.

11/25/2024- Final edits to wrap up the video.

In the past, my group and I have always used Cap Cut as our main source of editing. When it came time to start editing, we knew we were going to use Cap Cut . There had been a problem when we first started, however, as I've mentioned in past blogs . The US was going to ban Cap Cut , and they did. Use of Cap Cut in America was banned for around a week which frightened my group. Luckily, we still had not begun editing, so this was not a stopping point. My group and I just chose to use Cap Cut because it is the easiest and most diverse software there is for free . For one, the software's import and export features made it super easy to put in the clips and audio we needed. For the clips, all we had to do was drag the files from our File Explorer into the app. The clips were then put into CapCuts “library ”, And we're made easy to browse through. CCR Commercial

  Creative Critical Reflection   How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?   T he product which I used, Powerade, followed most of the traditional conventions of its past commercials, but also made sure to challenge some of them. The norm for the conventions for a sports drink commercial like P owerade would be fast jump cuts, inspirational music, quick paced movements, and sweating. While my group and I’s commercial does follow most  of the conventions, it also challenges some and goes against the grain of normal conventions of a sports drink commercial .
