A Little Bit About Me
Hi, my name is Albi, I'm in the 10th grade, enrolled at Fort Lauderdale High, in the Cambridge AICE program. I am also an immigrant, being born in Korçë, Albania and then moving when I was almost 2 years old. I wasn't old enough to truly remember anything from when I was 2 years old in the mountains, but I am fortunate enough to be able to visit almost every summer. I'm 15 years old, and will be turning 16 in March, where I will hopefully pass my drivers test first try and finally get the license I have been wanting since the 3rd grade. For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to drive, and for no particular reason; I just have the urge to drive. I also like taking pictures, but I wouldn't call it photography, more just taking pictures of nice things I see, if there's a sunset, I'm taking a picture, a man proposing, I'm taking a picture, a stray cat, I'm taking a picture. While I have my hobbies, I also have my responsibilities, responsibilities like work, school, chores, and taking care of my dog. I recently got a job at a Playa Bowls near my home, and so far it's been pretty good. Most times it's quiet, with little movement, which can make it a bit boring, but I would much rather prefer it being dead than it being busy. I do numerous things there, I don't have one set position; I wash the dishes, man the register, expedite bowls, top the bowls, sweep, etc. Of course, I do these things at different times, because if I did them all at once, I would be getting paid much more. Fortunately, I am fortunate enough to be working for my own personal interests, and not to help support my family. The major reason I'm working is to have a car by the time I get my license, but also to save for the future. I don't let myself spend most of the money that I make, putting away almost all of it. a big thing I'm also saving for is a trip across America. The top thing on my bucket list is travelling the world, and seeing all of Gods earth, and I'm going to start by seeing the most beautiful parts of each state. I have already made a list of things that are must see during the trip, and I imagine that it will continue to grow. I want to do the trip after senior year, or the summer before college, to experience as much as I can before I get stuck in college for the next 4 years. I have mixed feelings about college, probably because I still don't know what I want to do/major in, but with an opportunity like Bright Futures, I would be stupid to throw it away. Of course, everything I do is possible solely due to my parents, because without them, I would be working to support myself/my family, I wouldn't be in honors classes/the AICE program, and I certainly wouldn't be able to take that trip across America. Overall, I'm doing pretty good, and wouldn't want to live any other life. I am looking forward to working on my commercial with my group mates and bringing our ideas to life.
